MAM Morning Lectures
Architecture in the 20th Century
As critic Robert Hughes once famously noted, architecture is “the art nobody can escape.” Consciously or not, architecture
influences the way we live and work. Beginning in October, this
season’s MAM Morning Lectures will present five sessions by
Miami-based architects and scholars, focused on major figures.
The series will illuminate everything from the history of modernist
architecture and its aspirations of rational design producing a
rational society to the most current directions in architecture.
Upcoming MAM Morning Lectures:
February 20
Miami's Modern Masters:
L. Murray Dixon, Igor Polevitzky and Morris Lapidus
Allan T. Shulman, AIA, LEED AP, Principal,
Shulman + Associates; Research Assistant Professor,
School of Architecture, University of Miami
March 26
Dynamic Modernism:
Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Santiago Calatrava
John Stuart, Associate Professor,
