MAM Morning Lectures, Art in Miami

MAM Morning Lectures is an ongoing series dedicated to various subjects of modern and contemporary art. The 2009/2010 series, Art in Miami, beginning October 28, presents a panorama of the arts in Miami from 1896 to the contemporary scene. Subscribers meet monthly (excluding December) over coffee and muffins. A tour of current exhibitions led by MAM docents follows the lecture. Free Guided Tours on Sundays
Sundays at 2pm
Miami Art Museum offers free, guided tours by museum docents and trained guides every Sunday at 2pm. Drop-in visitors meet in the museum lobby. Tours are free (with museum admission).
Group Tours
Tuesday - Saturday, by appointment
Private tours led by trained museum guides are available year-round, by appointment. Tours are offered in English and Spanish for groups of 6 or more on Tuesdays through Saturdays during regular museum hours. Group tour rates are $6 for Adults and $3 for Seniors. University Student Group Tours
Tuesday - Sunday, by appointment
University class groups can request docent-guided tours of current exhibitions. Class groups are also welcome to schedule self-guided visits during afternoon hours Tuesday through Sunday. As a courtesy, we ask that you make an appointment in advance. Class visits may not be scheduled during special events such as JAM @ MAM or exhibition previews. There is no admission charge for students with I.D.

Reading Art: Join MAM's new book discussion group dedicated to the mystique of art. Come discuss art books in a range of different genres, including mysteries, biographies, critical books and even scandalous stories. ARTalks: Watch for announcements of occasional conversations pairing artists, authors and scholars in conversations centered on recently published books.

Gallery Notes: These illustrated, take-home brochures written by MAM curators provide background information on the exhibitions on view. Visitors can pick up their free copy in the lobby.
Visitors Gallery: MAM's Visitors Galleries, adjacent to exhibitions, offer print and media resources as well as hands-on activities to better understand exhibition themes.
